We meet in the basement but it might as well be the upper room!

If you’ve been at an Apex youth service in the past year, you’ll know what I’m talking about!  God is moving on our students and leaders in a very real, very BIG, way!  He’s calling students into ministry, filling students with the power of His Holy Spirit, and raising up a generation who is going to see signs and wonders again!  And I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it!

Specifically in these past few months, I have sensed a renewed presence of the Holy Spirit in our services.  There has been a genuine hunger for God from our students and a real heaviness of His power upon our altar.  Prophecies have been spoken about the city of Baltimore and even about our tiny little church in Catonsville… and God is preparing for a great revival.

So what does that mean for you?  How do you begin to prepare for something like this?

1. Pray!  The men and women in the upper room in the New Testament church prayed continually as Jesus had instructed them (Acts 1:14).  Jesus has given us the same instruction, through the New Testament writer, Paul.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
2. Wait!  In the fast-paced, results-NOW, society that we live in, it’s hard to fathom that we might have to wait for something.  I dont know exactly how long the disciples waited in the upper room to receive the Holy Spirit but I do know they waited… for however long it took… for the power to descend upon them.  Make sure you’re taking time to WAIT on the Lord!  Don’t rush through prayer times or altar services or even your day!  Spend some time in silence and wait to hear from God!
3. Go! The comission of ALL believers is to go out and preach the Gospel!  Even if you don’t feel like you have all the answers and even if you don’t feel like God has given you any special gift… know that He will go with you when you go tell someone about Him!  That’s the start of His revival… the obedience of his children!

We’re excited about what God is doing in Apex, in Catonsville, in Baltimore, and in HIS CHURCH!
